Hailey Marie Brouillet
April 30, 1993 – October 28, 2013

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Hailey is the loving daughter of Wayne and Lori Brouillet. She is a direct reflection of their generosity, compassion, and love. Hailey is not only a big sister to Morgan Brouillet, but also shares the deep bond of being each other’s best friend.

Hailey passed away on October 28, 2013 after a tragic accident where an out of control driver sent Hailey’s vehicle into oncoming traffic. Hailey was an angel and spent her days putting others before herself. She was a friend to many in her hometown of Troy, Michigan where she graduated in 2011 from Troy High School. Hailey was in her junior year at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan and had a declared major of Health Sciences. Between her sophomore and junior year, Hailey created an opportunity for herself to travel across Europe as part of Oakland’s CIEE Study Abroad Program. The trip through Amsterdam, London, Barcelona, Rome, and Scotland led Hailey to say, “The study abroad program expanded horizons much more than I ever thought it would. It made me want to travel, be more independent, and eager to try new things.” Hailey was a pioneer and has paved the way for other students to follow in her footsteps. Oakland University has honored her memory by creating the Hailey Brouillet Study Abroad Scholarship. The scholarship will help others reach their aspirations and create life-changing memories. As Hailey said, “I recommend that students go for the study abroad and don’t think about how costly it might be. Just go for it. It was the best experience of my life and I would not take it back for anything.” Why not?

Our vision includes multiple fundraising events that will allow the Hailey Brouillet Study Abroad Scholarship to be awarded on an annual basis. Hailey was a giver who never put herself “first in line.” Hailey cared for everyone she met and was incredibly humble in all of her beauty. Hailey’s scholarship will forever Share Her Spirit.

Share Her Spirit was created by the Brouillet family, Jessica Zacharias, Dominic Gaudino, and the help of countless others. Our purpose is to provide mediums that will remember Hailey’s pure spirit. Along with the Facebook page, an Instagram (@shareherspirit) and Twitter (@ShareHerSpirit) account have been set up. We encourage you to follow these different accounts to receive upcoming news and events.

Please, Share Her Spirit with a loved one, family member, friend, or someone you just met. Honor Hailey through the little things you do every day, she always treasured the smallest things. Hailey would always tell us to wake up every morning with positive thoughts and a smile on our face. We may not see her beautiful smile again but let us have her smile shine through us. For many, you may have never had the opportunity to meet Hailey, but Share Her Spirit represents more than knowing Hailey Brouillet. Whose spirit do you let shine through you?

We hope that after you read this story that Faith, Hope, and Love can be restored. We live in a world that could use more of each.

We welcome you to take our hand, follow us on this journey, and let us help you through your own.

As you move forward, take comfort knowing that you have a guardian angel with you.

She is smiling.

She is our sunshine.

She is Hailey Marie Brouillet.
